Day one! Late night edition: regional beer!

Day one of the challenge! I too, found myself drinking coffee this morning, before I even realized what I was doing. Like Mellisa, I plan to visit Caroline’s for some locally roasted beans .. but shopping to stock up on local food isn’t a one-stop affair – and I was out of the shopping mood before I made it to my 3rd stop. So, tomorrow will still be the completely imported stuff.
Luckily it was Farmers Market day in Nevada City! Once I was awake enough to realize that my usual cereal was way off of the local menu – I headed out, hungry, to the market.
Fresh corn on the cob – cold, the way I like it best – from Mountain Bounty Farm .. thanks Malaika! A slice of melon, and .. wow! a beet-burger! Yes, a beet-burger, grown and grilled by the team at Living Lands Agrarian Network .. with home-made pickles, no less. I’m still full! That was so good.
Ok, so now I’m spoiled. Day one was easy. But, I stocked up on more veggies for the days to come.
And …. happily, I just read the label on my favorite beer …. Mendocino! Not too far away. Ahhh.
