Well, beside the fact that Charles and I are unpacking in a new place which is hard on the cooking-thing, I was also in Sacramento for a good part of yesterday, hanging out in Good Day Sacramento’s Green Room with my boss, Stephanie. Hanging out in a Green Room isn’t conducive to even eating, so yesterday was a bit of a wash. BriarPatch was successful about bringing the Eat Local Challenge to the homes of many viewers who would otherwise never have heard of it, so that was great. AND the crew of Good Day Sacramento got to eat some of the terrific panzanella Doug (the Patch’s Kitchen Manager) made on the set, so a whole bunch of people ate locally yesterday thanks to the store. All good things.
Once I got home, I was pretty much drained. Charles and I ate leftovers of a pasta dish I had made the night before. It was created from samples that Charles needed to try to see if they’d be good to bring into the grocery department. (He’s the Grocery Manager.)
Yesterday wasn’t as local as I would have liked. Everything I consumed seemed to be work-related, but on a more successful Challenge note, we did have peach pie I had made from local peaches for dessert. So at least there was something.
