American Rivers Month

“The river,” is spoken out of the mouths of locals with reverence and anticipation. It’s a place that is sought out for relaxation, to revitalize the mind and body. We go to it for its beauty, as a relief from midsummer heat, and for its social presence as a go-to spot for Nevada County residents. It’s a destination shared by all, no matter what your income or political leanings. The Yuba River is loved like a member of the family.

June is American Rivers Month. Make sure to celebrate our waterways in whatever way you see fit – by conserving water at home, by joining SYRCL or attending their upcoming, mega-cool event, or by picking up litter the next time you go down to the river. There are so many things to keep in mind when thinking about our wild water – the habitat, the recreation, even the stuff that comes out of our tap.
