Zuchinis and Potatoes

Well, after time away from home I rounded out the week with some nice local weekend time and food. I’m really not too sure where much of my food comes from when I’m on the road, but I make sure to dine at locally owned establishments (definitely like to experience the local wines and brews) and avoid the chains.

It’s the beginning of LOTS of zuchini to be coming in our weekly CSA box from Riverhill Farm. Zuchini’s great for just slicing up and stir frying with whatever else we’ve got going on: one combination this weekend was with chopped up Italian sausage from Briar Patch and parsley and leaks also from the CSA box.

Tonight, after a full day out at Hoyt’s Crossing with my little boys (brought local peaches and nectarines for snacks), we came back to a pretty sparse fridge scene, but some boiled purple potatoes from the CSA box were front and center. They got covered in olive oil from not so far out of town, salt, pepper, parmesan cheese (from Parma?), and parsley from the CSA box and popped in the oven. Feelin’ it?

Jacob
