Films tell deeply moving stories about people, the earth

The South Yuba River Citizens League’s annual Wild & Scenic® Film Festival returns for its 14th year on January 12-16, 2017 in Grass Valley and Nevada City with another incredible selection of films to change your world. Each year, the Wild & Scenic Film Festival draws top filmmakers, celebrities, leading activists, social innovators and well-known world adventurers to our historic downtowns.

Wild & Scenic features many films that are food and farming oriented and this year is no exception. You can expect to see films that delve into sustainable food systems, hunting, farming, urban agriculture and seed preservation, just to name a few.

The programming serves to inform, inspire and ignite solutions and possibilities to restore the earth and human communities while creating a positive future for the next generation. Festival-goers can expect to see award-winning films about nature, community activism, adventure, conservation, water, energy and climate change, wildlife, environmental justice, agriculture, and indigenous cultures as well.
