BriarPatch Cooperative Community Fund

Give Where You Live
BriarPatch Co-op, with the help of Twin Pines Cooperative Foundation, established a fund in 1999 to generate interest income for annual grants to local community service organizations. In 11 years we’ve given $16,000 to 40 groups. Shoppers help build our fund by donating at the register— any amount, any time—and by participating in fundraisers. Bring your own grocery bag and your cashier will credit 5¢ to the Community Fund.

2011’s Grantees
• The Food Bank of Nevada County's Healthy Harvest Garden Project, to purchase a wagon and tools for their garden
• KidsKount Placer Community Action Council/Head Start, for a composter, worm bin, and start-up farden tools and inputs
• Mount Saint Mary's Academy Seed of Life Garden, for a composter.
