BriarPatch Food Co-op is committed to supporting nonprofits and organizations that do good work in our community. Our Ends Policies provide the filter that helps us decide which organizations we donate to financially and in-kind.
All donation requests are reviewed equitably and are not on a first-come, first-serve basis. Requests must be made via formal application 30 or more days prior to when the donation is needed. Requests can be made for core operating support or project/event support. Only one donation per organization per calendar dear. For full donation guidelines, click here.
Sponsorships between BriarPatch Food Co-op and community nonprofits are an annual relationship in which funding is negotiated and mutually agreed upon for the calendar year. Interested organizations may submit a sponsorship proposal that clearly outlines how funds will be used and how the organization aligns with BriarPatch Food Co-op’s Ends Policies to Rebecca Torpie at firstname.lastname@example.org.
COOPERATIVE COMMUNITY FUND
BriarPatch Food Co-op participates in the Cooperative Community Fund’s Give Where You Live Campaign. A limited number of grants are available every year and are distributed at the discretion of the BriarPatch marketing department. For more information, please contact Jason Patton, Community Engagement Coordinator, at email@example.com.
ROUND UP AT THE REGISTER
BriarPatch Food Co-op’s CAUSE pools the generosity of shoppers who round-up at the register to raise significant funds for a deserving local nonprofit each month. In 2021, CAUSE recipients were selected based on their work with groups that have been systemically and culturally oppressed in American history, particularly Black, Indigenous and People of Color and the LGBTQ+ community. Applications for the 2022 CAUSE cycle will open on July 1, 2021 and close on August 31, 2021. Please contact Jason Patton, Community Engagement Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
Due to the high volume of donation requests BriarPatch Food Co-op receives every year, a limited number of Bunny Coins are available throughout the year for qualifying organizations. Interested parties may inquire with the Customer Service Desk at the front of the store with presentation of a letter of interest on formal letterhead. Qualified organizations will receive a $25 Bunny Coin gift certificate.
