Join BriarPatch Food Co-op and Chef Jes Taber (Eye of the Avocado) for a fun and delicious online class that teaches The Art of The Brunch and encourages the wearing of pajamas.
This winter class, “Egg Me On: Brunch & Bubbles” takes place virtually on February 13.
“If you can cook a perfect egg, you will understand why I love eggs so much,” said Jes, who regularly buys the highest quality eggs she can find at the Co-op.
On the menu: Cream Baked Eggs with Toast Points, Green Goddess-dressed Bitter Greens mixed with Arugula, Billionaire’s Bacon and Vegan Quick Perfect Beans. We’ll wash it down with Blood Orange Mimosas. The end result is fancy pants style that you’ll enjoy eating while in your cozy pj bottoms.
Jes is the founder of “Eye of the Avocado” and has worn many culinary hats over the years - from personal chef to caterer and online cooking instructor.
Jes knows food. For years, she lived in San Francisco and the Bay Area working at some of the best eateries the city has to offer - Tartine Bakery, Bi-Rite Market, The Village Market, Blue Bottle Coffee and Terroir Wine Bar, to name a few.
Specializing in nourishing dishes, her all-star recipe for a 7-minute egg - “seven minutes to heaven” - is the centerpiece of a legendary sandwich that a reporter from LA Weekly drove 455-miles for when Jes managed the soup, salad and small plate menu at Three Forks Bakery and Brewing Co.
“I’ve been making things with eggs my whole career. I personally think egg yolk is the most delicious thing in the world. It’s molten lava gold that we get to eat.”
Cooking, munching, brunching and imbibing with your sweetie is strongly encouraged at this late morning class. Co-op owners who sign up receive a $5 credit added to their owner accounts for class ingredients.
