Peanut (or Almond) Satay Sauce Satay sauce is rich and creamy, with just the right balance of acid, sweetness and salt to make you want to eat just about anything you put it on. The fresh touches in here (lime juice and grated ginger) are well worth the effort.
3 Tbsp. creamy peanut butter (or almond butter)
1 Tbsp. soy sauce
1 Tbsp. lime juice, freshly squeezed
2 tsp. brown sugar
2 tsp. chili garlic sauce, or more, to taste
1 tsp. freshly grated ginger
2-3 Tbsp. coconut milk or water, as needed
Whisk together the peanut (or almond) butter, soy sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, chili garlic sauce and ginger in a small bowl. Whisk in coconut milk or water (1 Tbsp. at a time) until desired consistency is reached.
